You can apply for your LV2 permit online and get it mailed to you.
If you're in the 47th Ward portion of the LV2 zone, no office visit required. Here's what you need and how to apply.
Which ward are you in?
The LV2 zone spans parts of three wards: the 44th, 46th, and 47th. Your permit comes from the alderman's office for your specific ward. If you're not sure which ward your address falls in, you can check at gis.chicago.gov.
This guide covers the 47th Ward online process. If you're in the 44th or 46th Ward, you'll need to contact those offices directly (links at the bottom of this post).
The 47th Ward online application
Alderman Mat Martin's office has an Airtable form where residents can apply for their LV2 Night Baseball Parking Permit. Submit the form and the permit is mailed to your address. No trip to the office, no waiting in line.
Note: this is the alderman's official form. If the link doesn't work or has changed, contact the 47th Ward office directly at aldermanmartin.com.
What you need before you apply
- A current Chicago City Vehicle Sticker (city sticker) — you'll need the receipt showing the sticker number
- Your vehicle's license plate number
- Proof of residency in the LV2 zone: a utility bill, current lease, or driver's license showing your address
Don't have your city sticker yet? That has to come first. See our Chicago City Sticker FAQ for where to buy one and what it costs.
After you submit
New permits are typically mailed to residents before the first home game of the season. If you apply mid-season (for example, you just moved in), processing time varies — contact the 47th Ward office directly if you need it urgently and can't wait for mail delivery.
The permit must be displayed in your vehicle while parked on an LV2 street. Officers check for it during enforcement windows.
44th and 46th Ward residents
Both wards cover parts of the LV2 zone and issue permits to eligible residents. Contact them directly:
- 44th Ward: 44thward.org
- 46th Ward: 46thward.com/parking
Business owners in any of the three wards should request permit orders in writing to their respective alderman's office.
The permit doesn't cover other permit zones
Your LV2 Night Baseball Parking Permit is only valid on LV2 streets during LV2 enforcement hours. It does not work in Zone 383 or any other Chicago residential permit zone. The zones look similar on signage but are separate programs.
